The
Rapture vs. The Second Coming
-by
Jorge L. Trujillo
The
dispensationalists have separated the ‘rapture’ from the ‘second
coming’ of Christ making them two completely separate events. Here is a list on how they have divided the events
surrounding both, the rapture and the Second Coming.
As you will see, there is no sound hermeneutical basis to sustain
such schemes, but nevertheless, some still fall in the trap and believe
this nonsense. May the Lord
of peace guide you in the understanding of his Holy Word and show you the
path of truth.
Listed below are 15 (so-called)
differences between the Rapture and the Second Coming.

Jesus
coming WITH His Church Col 3:4, Zech 14:5, Jude 14, Rev 19:14
|
|
Observation: Nonsense!
The Bible states:
Hebrews 9
27And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after
this the judgment, 28so Christ was offered once to bear
the sins of many. To those who eagerly
wait for Him
He will appear a SECOND
time, apart from sin, for
salvation.
Comment:
The rapture has to be the second coming, if not so,
then this verse is wrong and there still a THIRD coming left, and
THAT is exactly what they say. “COMING
for” and “COMING
with”,
1
Coming + 1 Coming = 2
Comings!

Caught
up with Him in the air 1 Thess 4:13-18
|
2
|
Jesus'
feet touch the earth Zech 14:4, Rev:19:11-21
|
|
Observation: More Nonsense!
The Bible states:
2 Timothy 4
1 I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will
judge the living and the dead at[1]
His appearing and His kingdom
8Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of
righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will
give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also
to all who have loved His appearing.
Comment:
There is ONLY ONE! Coming (appearing) Not two!
|
|

|
Christians
taken first, unbelievers are left behind. 1 Thess 4:13-18
|
3
|
Wicked
are taken first, the righteous (Tribulation saints) are left
behind.Matt 13:28-30
|
|
Observation: Nonsense!
The Bible states:
2 Thessalonians 2
…concerning the
coming [Parousia]
of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him,
we ask you, 2not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled,
either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though
the day of Christ (day of the Lord)
had come. 3Let no one deceive you by any means; for that
Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and
the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition… whom
the Lord will consume with the breath of
His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His
coming
[Parousia].
Comment:
The man of sin (the wicked one) will be destroyed
on the same day the
believers are taken up in the rapture in the [PAROUSIA] (the
coming of the Lord) which happens on the day of the Lord.
The Bible states:
Matthew 13
30Let
both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest
I will say to the reapers, "First gather together the tares and
bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my
barn…. 38The field is the world, the good
seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the
wicked one. 39The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the
harvest is the end [SUNTELEIA] of the
age, and the reapers are the angels. 40Therefore
as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at
the end of this age.
Matthew 28
18And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All
authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19Go
therefore and make disciples of all
the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father
and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to
observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I
am with you always, even to the end [SUNTELEIA] of the
age." Amen
Matthew 24
3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the
disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will
these things be? And what will be the
sign [SEMEION] of Your
coming, and of the end [SUNTELEIA] of
the age?" … 29
"Immediately after the tribulation of those days
the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the
stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be
shaken. 30Then the sign [SEMEION]
of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the
tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man
coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31And
He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they
will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of
heaven to the other.
Comment:
The harvest is the end/consummation [SUNTELEIA] of
the world. Jesus told
his disciples of the Church that he would be with them every day
UNTIL the consummation [SUNTELIA] of the world.
The sign of the coming of Christ is before the SUNTELEIA
(consummation) and that sign is AFTER the tribulation of the day.
The Christians will be preaching and making disciples UNTIL
the SUNTELEIA (the end of the age) which happens AFTER
the Great Tribulation!

Purpose:
To present the Church to Himself and to the Father 2 Cor 11:2, Rev.
19:6-9
|
4
|
Purpose:
To execute judgment on earth and set up His Kingdom Jude 14-15,Rev
19:11-21, Zech 14:3-4
|
|
Observation: Nonsense!
The Bible states:
1 Corinthians 15
22For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all
shall be made alive. 23But each one in his own order:
Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ's at
His coming. 24Then comes the end, when He
delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an
end to all rule and all authority and power.
Comment:
The kingdom was set up in His first coming!
When he returns is to present the church (his kingdom) to the
father and then THE END!

MARRIAGE:
Marriage of Lamb in heaven after the Rapture
|
5
|
WAR:
Marriage is followed by war on earth at the 2nd coming
|
|
Observation:
Nonsense!
The
Bible says:
Revelation
19
for
the marriage of the Lamb has come,
and His wife has made herself ready." 8And to her it
was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the
fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
9Then he said to me, "Write: "Blessed are those
who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!"' And he
said to me, "These are the true sayings of God."
10And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me,
"See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of
your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the
testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." 11
Now I saw heaven opened, and behold,
a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True,
and in righteousness He judges and makes war.
Comment:
The
marriage of the Lamb coincides with
the Second Coming!

Happens
in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye (too fast for eyes to
see) 1 Cor 15:52
|
6
|
Slow
coming, people will see Him come back.Zech 12:10 Matt 24:30, Rev 1:7
|
|
Observation: Nonsense!
The Bible states:
Acts 1
9 Now when He had spoken these things, while they
watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their
sight. 10And while they looked steadfastly
toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white
apparel, 11who also said, "Men of Galilee, why do
you stand gazing up into heaven? This
same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in
like manner as you saw Him go into heaven."
1 Corinthians 15
51Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep,
but we shall all be changed-- 52in
a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the
last trumpet.
Comment:
The tranformation will happen in the twinkling of
an eye, NOT the rapture! Also,
it happens at the last trumpet!, the seventh trumpet!!

7
|
Only
Christians
will see Him 1 John 3:2, 1 Cor 15:52
|
7
|
Every
eye
will see Him Rev. 1:7
|
|
Observation: Nonsense!
The Bible states:
4 John, to the seven
churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from
Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven
Spirits who are before His throne, 5and from Jesus
Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the
ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed[1]
us from our sins in His own blood, 6and has made us kings[2]
and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion
forever and ever. Amen. 7Behold, He is coming with
clouds, and every eye will see
Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the
earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen. 8"I
am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,"[3]
says the Lord,[4]
"who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."
Comment:
God says that ‘EVERY’
eye will see Him coming back EVEN they who pierced Him. It does not say that some eyes will see Him, it says EVERY
EYE! The Bible NOWHERE
says that there are two comings is only ONE visible by every eye!

|
Jesus
descends with a shout(for resurrection) 1 Thess 4:16
|
8
|
No shout
mentioned Rev. 19:11-21
|
|
Observation: Nonsense!
The Bible States:
John 5
26For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has
granted the Son to have life in Himself, 27and has given
Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of
Man. 28Do not marvel at this; for the
hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His
voice 29and
come forth--those who have done good, to the resurrection of
life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of
condemnation.
Comment:
(Believers and Unbelivers alike will hear the shout
at his SECOND COMING!)
|
|
9
|
A
resurrection takes place 1 Thess 4:13-18, 1 Cor 15:51-54
|
9
|
No
resurrection mentioned Rev 1:7, 19:11-21, Zech 12:10, 14:4-5
|
|
Observation: Nonsense!
The Bible says:
Acts 24
15I have hope in God, which they themselves also
accept, that there will be a
resurrection of the dead,both
of the just and the unjust.
Comment:
How can EVERY EYE
see Christ coming back INCLUDING those who
pierced Him (Rev. 1:7) if there is no resurrection of them
who have been dead for 2000 years? Nonsense!
The Bible says:
John 14
3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will
come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may
be also.
Comment:
There is no mention of resurrection here either.
Does that means this is part of the second coming? If not,
then your logic is faulty.
|
|
10
|
Can
happen at any time Rev 3:3, 1 Thess 5:4-6
|
10
|
Occurs
at end of 7 years of Tribulation Dan 9:24-27Matt 24:29-30, 2 Thess
2:3-8
|
|
Observation: Nonsense!
The Bible states:
1 Thessalonians 5
4But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so
that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 5You
are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night
nor of darkness. 6Therefore let us not sleep, as others
do, but let us watch and be sober.
Revelation 3
3Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold
fast and repent. Therefore
if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief,
and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.
Comment:
Is the same day.
If you are watching it will not come to you as a thief.
If you are not, it will come to you as a thief.

11
|
No
angels are sent to gather (resurrected people don't need angels to
help them)
|
11

Angels
sent forth to gather people together for judgment Matt 13:39, 41,

Observation: Nonsense!
|
|
12
|
Spirits
of
those dead in Christ return with Jesus to receive their their
resurrected bodies 1 Thess 4:14-16
|
12
|
Christians
return with Jesus in already resurrected bodies riding on
white horses. Rev 19:11-21
|
|
Observation: Nonsense!
|
|
13
|
Jesus
does not return on a white horse
|
13
|
Jesus
returns on a white horse Rev 19:11
|
|
Observation: Nonsense!
The Bible States:
Matthew 24
29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those
days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will
be shaken. 30Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear
in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they
will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power
and great glory.
Comment:
There is no mention of a horse here either after
the tribulation. Is
this another coming?
|
|
14
|
For the
Church only (those in Christ) 1 Thess 4:14-17
|
14
|
For
redeemed Israel & Gentiles Rom 11:25-27, Matt 25:31-46
|
|
Observation: SUPER Nonsense!
The Bible says:
Acts 4
12Nor is there salvation in any other, for
there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must
be saved."
Comment:
There
is no salvation apart from Christ! If the you are not saved by being
“in Christ” You are not Redeemed! You ARE NOT saved!
|
|
15
|
A
message of hope and comfort 1 Thess 4:18, Titus 2:13,
1 John 3:3
|
15
|
A
message of judgment Joel 3:12-16, Rev 19:11-21, Mal 4:5
|
|
Observation: Nonsense!
The Bible States:
Matthew 16
26For what profit is it to a man if he gains the
whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in
exchange for his soul? 27For the Son of Man will come in
the glory of His Father with His angels, and
then He will reward each according to his works.
Rev. 22
12 "And behold, I am
coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to
every one
according to his work.
Romans 2
5But in accordance with your hardness and your
impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in
the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,
6who "will render to each one according
to his deeds":[1]
7eternal
life to those who by patient continuance in doing good
seek for glory, honor,
and immortality; 8but to those who are
self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness--indignation and wrath, 9tribulation and
anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew
first and also of the Greek; 10but glory,
honor, and peace to everyone who works what is good,
to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 11For there is no
partiality with God.
Comment:
The Second Coming is a day
of comfort for believers and at the same time a day of
judgment for sinners. The
Bible DOES NOT divide this day, is
one and the same day!
